"I needed something different, everything I had tried wasn't working"
I've always had a really good exercising habit.
After having my second child, like many mothers I became unhappy with my body shape and that's when I first started exercising in the gym.
I was told that I need to just accept that my body had changed after pregnancy and and that's the way it is, but I thought screw that!
I started with classes at the gym and that's where Megan helped me in the gym for the first time when she worked at Fitness Perfection early in her career. (As it was named back then, now Fitness Focus in Dubbo).
Megan encouraged us to venture out onto the gym floor and lift weights, she gave us the confidence to get out of our comfort zone but as soon as she stopped working there we (My Sister and I) went back to the classes.

Occasionally we would try to mix things up
A little weights, some cardio and some classes but it was never planned or structured. Just what we felt like on the day.
The rush of endorphins I felt from every workout became addictive, the me time and the ability to escape the worlds problems during my workouts had me wanting more and more.
So, naturally I started to work out more and more until at one point I was training twice a day 5-6 days a week. I never really ever thought twice about too much exercise ever being a problem.
In 2017 an opportunity to work with Megan came by so I grabbed it.
At that time I would workout in the morning for half an hour, teach a class for 45 minutes and back that up again in the evening with another 30 minute class easily accumulating 10hrs of exercise or more a week.
"Ruth learn't how to get results like this working out just 30 minutes a day, 2-3 hours a week."
I was addicted to exercise and I couldn't see the damage it was doing...
Megan put the mirror up in my face and showed me exactly how much exercise I was doing, she never told me what to do.
Instead she taught me make my own choices, slowly I started to cut back on the exercise which left more time in my day to think and that's where the real issues holding me back started to show up.
For years I had been using exercise as a way to forget about my real, deeper problems so when I started to do less it was like ripping the Band Aid off.
I always thought the type of exercise I was doing was the problem, why I never saw the result or why I was never happy and bounced from program to program and diet to diet.
When first I went to Megan I thought her version of exercise would be the change I needed but it wasn't, I placed all of this worth into her thinking she was my magic pill but she wasn't.
Megan made me realize the real magic pill, the secret was working on the one person that could change everything.
She showed me I needed to work on the real problems I was hiding from and gave me the tools to do that and since then my mental health has improved, I have more energy and I have a booty now!
- I don't get run down or sick as easily any more
- I have more time to spend with the kids and my husband.
- And, I've built muscle!
Trust me when I say I've done everything. I've done the detoxes, diets, cleanses and no sugar. Everything!
The biggest lesson I've lesson from working with Megan is to relax and not try to be so perfect.
She has really taken the pressure off me and as a mum there's nothing better than having that pressure of trying to be the best at everything.
