"I entered the MP Trainer Transformation of the Year to show my clients I practice what I preach."
I completed my first program on my own but in July I decided to ask for help, that help came in the form of an MP Mentor.
Peter guided me through my second MP Program from the end of July until November.
I’ve only recently been certified an MP Specialist so I felt as though having somebody to be accountable to would help me develop my own coaching skills.
In the past, before learning Metabolic Precision I used to count macros and using that method I managed to get below 12% body fat but I was being particularly restrictive. This time my goal was to be able to attain the same result without being restrictive and through using the principals of Metabolic Precision.
Before second program started I sustained a grade 2 tear in the muscles around my thumb so it wasn’t a great start.
In the first few weeks of my second program nothing really changed with my eating routine and I felt no different, 2 weeks in I injured myself again after a silly accident on the weekend. I sprained my a/c joint which threw me as I couldn’t train my upper body.
We made some changes to my exercise program and Pete assured me I would still get good results and that it would end up being a good blog for my clients on how to train around injuries so we made some modifications to the plan and kept going.
My first meal record task didn’t come through until week 3. It was at this point Pete noticed I wasn’t cooking from the cookbible and I was making decisions on the go. His feedback was to start eating from the cookbible as much as I could so I started cooking from the cookbible.
"Immediately I felt better for being more structured and my week 6 photos showed a difference without focusing on macros so I was happy with that."
After week six my main focus was to be more consistent with the protein amounts, before week six some meals would have a little and others would have a lot so building some routine into what I was eating was the goal.
This meant more food prep and in larger amounts so I didn’t need to weigh everything out every time I wanted to eat something.
Over the past 12 weeks I have learned that through focusing on my habits I solve a lot of problems I was trying to micro-manage when I used to count macros.
This has helped me heaps with my coaching and I’ve been able to keep a cool heading knowing exactly what my clients needed to focus on in their first program.
"I have another 3 programs booked in with Pete and a whole year of mentoring so I am really looking forward to what 2019 brings for both my own transformation and my business".
