"As an MP trainer I thought it was imperative to not only do the program but to be held fully accountable to someone for that program."
I think that its impossible to be the best coach you can be without putting yourself in your client’s shoes and feeling how they feel. I have asked my clients to share their results and enter the competition and they have been hesitant, so I will also put myself out there as my trainer has asked me to.
My first 12 weeks went fairly well.
At first I was pumped and felt fresh but very quickly I experienced the same '6 week blues' everyone experiences when the excitement of the initial first few weeks fade. This was an invaluable experience for me as it helped me understand my clients journey better so I can help them through that first hurdle.
Being accountable to someone had me trying my best to please them.
This was a huge mistake that lead to a derailment in my second 12 weeks. Instead of focusing on MY habits and the things I needed to give attention to, I was simply trying to get my tasks done.
The improvements in body shape from week 1 through week 12 are far better than 12 through week 20 but I have gotten twice as much from falling off the wagon than I did from just going through the tasks like homework. Learning that being perfect 90% of the time and being diabolical 10% isn’t the same as consistently improving and getting better each week at the things you’re not so good at.
I am looking forward to 2019 and a 3rd MP program full of mistakes.
Also huge thank you to Peter Brown. Aside from the fact that he has taught me a huge amount about transformations he has given me business advice, personal advice and given us a transformation to aspire to.
I hope my journey inspires other trainers to experience their own transformation
